Aims & Welcome!

Welcome to Our School

James' Junior is a place where we like to have fun, play games, in particular we like to discourage the use free online games as we believe educational tools should remain triditional and in particular within our community. We believe that such activities contribute significantly to the ethos of the school.

We have just added a paddling pool to the playground which has been a big success with our new recruits!

The Headteacher and staff extend a warm welcome to all children attending James' Junior School and hope that their time here will be a happy and worthwhile experience.

In addition to welcoming your child, we also welcome you with an invitation to become involved in the life and work of the school. Your support and co-operation is vital in creating and maintaining a stable learning environment and in ensuring that your child fulfils his/her potential in all the many facets of school life.

This website contains information on various aspects of school administration and curriculum which may concern parents, both at the commencement of and during their child's passage through the primary stage of education. Naturally, one cannot hope to answer every question on a website. I am therefore, always available to parents at any mutually convenient time, if they are at all worried about their child.

Our Aims

We want your child to enjoy his/her years at James' Junior School. We also want it to be a purposeful period in your child's life. Our three major aims are to:

  • provide a rich, stimulating and structured environment where all children will be motivated to learn and progress at their own individual rate to the maximum of their own individual capabilities.

  • encourage initiative, self reliance and a responsibility for their own learning.

  • teach explicitly and by example, that respect, consideration, concern and care for themselves, for others and for their environment is both desirable and essential to community.

I truthat you will support us in reaching these aims.

Yours sincerely

Ian Dell
Headteacher
